To recommend anything I truly feel you have to experience it first hand. So I attended a Pregnancy Yoga class a year into my menopause. I had already attended Lynne Jarretts regular yoga class which I really like. I tried a few before hers which didn't hit the mark and I loved her Hatha Yoga class. Admittedly I haven't been for a few weeks as I was going with my teen-age daughter who now prefers Fitness Pole Dancing to Yoga and the 2 classes clashed. Plus Wednesday seems to be a popular evening for clients to book massages.
The Pregnancy yoga class is 1 hour and 15 minutes and the first 15 minutes is checking in on all the mum's, their health, present aches and pains etc which is great. Lynne writes on her website "A class dedicated to yoga for pregnancy which will help ease and prevent discomfort during pregnancy and prepare you with some useful tools for childbirth. Designed to nourish and relax in this amazing time in your life. Suitable from 16 weeks onwards." Oh how I wish I had already discovered yoga during my pregnancy!
Yoga is wonderful for mind and body at any time and I can't recommend Yoga during pregnancy enough. To gently stretch out muscles and joints is so benficial at a time when they are under extra strain. Breathing is a focus in yoga as it is in labour so it's great to get in tune with that too.
As in her regular massage classes she always reminds everyone to listen to and feel your own personal body limitations and will often give 2 versions of a move depending on what you are personally comfortable with. Lynne is very much aware of what is suitable for each individual mum-to-be and each of their limitations and each exercise suitability. She also holds Birth Breathing sessions and Bring A Baby Yoga
Make your pregnancy even more of a special time! Regular massage and yoga will help you do just that. For more information and to read reviews visit Lynne's website CLICK HERE
